The Challenge

Tabletop roleplaying games have traditionally relied on a Game Master to create and run adventures. Sometimes that Game Master uses published adventure material. I know for a fact that the internet is chock full of extremely talented GMs. We can all help each other out by writing adventures we can share with each other. Please consider taking the WoAdWriMo challenge with us: to write a complete, playable rpg adventure of at least 32 pages in length by the last day of June next year. You can do it.

Keep watching this space for my personal thoughts on WoAdWriMo or join us at the Treasure Tables forums where host Martin Ralya has set aside a space for the official WoAdWriMo forum. Ask questions. Voice concerns. Sign on to take the challenge. Spread the word. This is about you and what you can do for our hobby.

Remember June is Worldwide Adventure Writing Month. Start planning now.

Jeff Rients,
WoAdWriMo Coordinator

This is going to rock in so many ways. :)

I've said it before, but thank you for doing this, Jeff!

I just pimped the project on the Savage Worlds YahooGroup and my local gaming community forum.

Have we thought about alerting the folks at EN-World, or perhaps a press release to GamingReport.com?

Just some thoughts... Dave

Passed it on to 2 yahoo groups and rpg.net. Thank the Savage Worlds yahoogroup posting by red-hair for that. Damn viral marketing! ;)

Thanks for the help spreading the word! The plan is to notify every RPG board and newsite we can think of. I just went live with the blog a little too quickly to coordinate the initial press releases with the blog launch.

What happens to the adventures? Do you post them somewhere for everyone to download?

Jeff Rients said...

What happens to the completed adventures is up to the participants. We plan to offer a central clearinghouse where anyone who wants to contribute can make their adventure available for free download. If someone wants to host their adventure elsewhere, we will cheerfully link to their site. If you complete your adventure and sell it to a publisher, please let us know so we can sing your praises to the heavens!

I like it.

I don't know what I'm doing this June, but, barring travelling, I'm in.

As i have mentioned before to Jeff, if it turns out that when submittions come in that we still need a hosting site for the adventure, I can host a subsite just for the adventures. I also have the ability to convert your adventures to PDF, if anyone needs that service.
